A 38 year old South Jersey man who owns a store in Salem is behind bars for allegedly being a part of a $9 million scheme to obtain and sell contraband cigarettes that were untaxed. Wally Khasharmeh of Gibbstown owns the AMW Supermarket in Salem where the enterprise started. He remains holed up in jail without bail. Authorities say others were involved in the scheme including 41 year old Muhammad Shafique and Kamran Khalid of Egg Harbor Township and 62 year old Mohammad Rafiq of Atlantic City.
