Woodbine officials say that the County of Cape May has awarded a contract for the drainage project at the intersection of Washington Avenue (County Route 557) and South DeHirsch Boulevard.
Bids were received on October 6. The contract was awarded to F.W. Shawl & Sons, Inc. of Marmora in the amount of $16,400.
Ponding of stormwater in this area will be addressed. A new pipe will be installed, and a manhole will be installed upstream of the ponding area and the existing catch basin will be replaced with a Type E inlet; the two will be connected with reinforced concrete culvert pipe.
The work is scheduled to begin the week of October 25. The roadway will only be closed during working hours and the work is expected to be completed within a week.
