Cape May County is going forward with a project this winter to repair the roadway that was taken out during Hurricane Sandy in Avalon. The road right before Townsend’s Inlet Bridge had a temporary fix put in place but will be permanently fixed over the next two winters. The project will have to be cut into two seasons because of environmental reasons. Engineer Dale Foster said the roadway will be shut down for two months but otherwise will remain open with one lane of traffic through.
