RIDE OPERATOR FIRED AFTER INJURING 4 YEAR-OLD

The operator of the Speedway amusement ride that injured a 4 year-old girl on Sunday has been fired. The N.J. Department of Community Affairs said the foot injury caused to the the girl at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier was caused by operator error. State inspectors found no mechanical problems when the ride was checked out on Monday and reopened.
