A plan to put casinos in North Jersey took another step forward on Monday when the Assembly judiciary committee voted 6-2 to advance a resolution that would result in a ballot question this November. If the state legislature allows, the state voters will have to have the final say to change the state constitution to allow gaming outside of Atlantic City. With the issue through the Senate budget committee last month, both the full Senate and Assembly chambers will have to approve the resolution by a two-thirds majority.
