The Republican slate of candidates to seek the party’s endorsement are set. Cape May County Republican Party Chairman Mike Donohue tells Coastal Broadcasting that there will be three men seeking the party’s endorsement for senate, former municipal court judge David DeWeese, state committeeman for the Cumberland County Regular Republican Organization Troy Ferus, and Lower Township resident Tom Greto.
On the Assembly side, the county will vote to endorse one Cape May County resident and one candidate from another portion of the district. The candidates are Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters, Cumberland County Freeholder Samuel Fiocchi, and Peter Boyce.
There will be four candidates running for Freeholder in Cape May County. The candidates are former Lower Township Councilman Arthur “Stig” Blomkvest, Upper Township Councilwoman Kristine Gabor, William Morey, and Jay Young.
There will only be one person seeking the endorsement of the party for sheriff. Sheriff Gary Schaffer is running for reelection this year.
