REPORTS OF SCAMS COME OUT FOLLOWING HURRICANE SANDY

Now is the time that people are attempting scams in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The Egg Harbor Township Police Department notes that they have had a report of one such scam so far. The number is 202-666-7770. Do not provide your personal information to anyone over the phone. Always verify the caller’s identity. And to report calls to www.ic3.gov. There may be other scams out there as well. Guard against the potential of someone trying to make a buck during the clean up efforts.
