REPORT: WOMAN PERISHES IN HO– USE FIRE

An 81 year old woman from Fairfield Township lost her life on Monday night during a fire that tore through a home she shared with her husband for nearly a half century.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that 81 year old Martha Hatch lost her life in a fire that quickly spread through her home on Walden Drive Monday night.  A man visiting a neighbor tried to rescue Hatch, but to no avail.  Hatch’s husband, Irvin, survived the fire.
