REPORT: WILDWOOD TAKES OUT MEMORIAL BENCHES, NO NOTICE

According to a report on CBS3 television in Philadelphia, the city of Wildwood decided to take out wooden memorial benches and replaced them with metal blue benches..without telling people who forked over money for the memorials.  The television station reports that Debbie DiPierro bought a $170 memorial bench on the boardwalk three years ago that was dedicated to her late parents.  DiPierro visited last weekend, and saw the bench was replaced, and she was never notified.  Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo spoke with CBS3 and said “They have to have some sort of consideration that a $170 does not purchase a lifetime of services from the city”.  DeMarzo admits that Wildwood “maybe we’ll learn from this experience”.  The full report can be seen by Cydney Long at www.cbs3.com
