A lawsuit has been filed by a Wildwood Police officer who believes Mayor Gary DeMarzo has not followed a court order. Lt. Rich Adair filed in Superior Court saying that DeMarzo did not follow an appellate court’s ruling that would force DeMarzo to either be the mayor, or a police officer, but not both. Coastal Broadcasting previously reported that DeMarzo had put himself on a layoff list with four other police officers. Superior Court Judge Valerie Armstrong has scheduled a hearing on the lawsuit for Wednesday. The attorney representing Adair, Colin Bell, is asking for a restraining order to be placed on DeMarzo as a commissioner in Wildwood until an final decision can be made by the courts.
