A report over the weekend suggests that a vacancy on the New Jersey Supreme Court will likely remain until the end of Governor Chris Christie’s last term as governor. The Star Ledger reports that Christie and Senate President Steve Sweeney cut a deal that would keep Chief Justice Stuart Rabner on the beach until 2030 if he wants to serve that long. However, Sweeney says he will not accept any future nominations on the court unless the nominee is a democrat.
