The New Jersey Turnpike Authority wants to reportedly do away with American flags being hung by private citizens on highway overpasses. NJ.com reports that the Authority has no control over how the flags are hung and if they present a danger to the motoring public. The flags became commonplace in 2001. The Authority operates both the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
