According to a report by the Star Ledger, the days of teachers being tenured are numbered. The state’s new acting education chief will announce today some sweeping reforms to New Jersey’s education system which may include dumping tenure for teachers in return for five year contracts. Christoper Cerf will deliver a speech at Princeton University this afternoon, and he may announce sweeping reforms that would tie teacher compensation to the performance of his or her students. Bonuses may be offered to the better teachers in the state under this plan.
