Senate President Steve Sweeney
A plan to change the education system could be significantly changed. The Star-Ledger reports that Senate President Steve Sweeney will not advance legislation that Gov. Chris Christie wants to see posted that would change the tenure systen and create merit pay. Sweeney told the paper that he has reservations on many aspects of the overhaul, but on those two particular issues, he wants to see a better plan put forward before he allows for it to be voted for in the Senate.
