REPORT: STRATHMERE GROUP TO APPEAL DECISION

Today’s Press of Atlantic City reports that a citizens’ group in Strathmere is going to appeal to the state’s Appellate Division a decision that denied a secession effort.  Citizens for Strathmere and Whale Beach was told by Superior Court Judge Valerie Armstrong that Strathmere could not split away from Upper Township and become a part of another community, possibly Sea Isle City.  The Press reports that if Strathmere leaves Upper Township, about $4 million in school tax revenues would be lost.
