A new report says there was a big cover up in the state police regarding an accident. The Star-Ledger reports that an off-duty state trooper caused an accident two years ago and used his undercover I.D. at the time of the accident. State Troopers allegedly sent the false identification to the insurance company. The victim in the crash, Clayton Tanksley, had been unable to sue William Gillespie, because he didn’t exist. The Star-Ledger told Tanksley after they uncovered that Gillespie was in fact, State Police Detective Sgt. William Billingham. The story says Tanksley is considering a lawsuit against the state.
