REPORT: SOMERS POINT COP INDICTED ON NINE COUNTS THIS WEEK

A veteran police officer in Somers Point has been indicted on nine counts in connection with a domestic violence case.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that 49 year old Samuel E. Clerico of Egg Harbor Township used his police identification to get into a hotel room of a woman with whom he was in a relationship with.  He also allegedly attacked a fellow Somers Point police sergeant over a phone number issue.  Clerico is currently suspended without pay by the police department.
