REPORT: NORTH JERSEY CASINOS COULD BE FORCED TO PAY MAJOR TAX RATE

North Jersey casinos could be paying a much higher tax rate than Atlantic City casinos if the proposal ends up becoming approved. The Star-Ledger reports that Assemblyman Ralph Caputo says the tax rate could be between 40 and 60 percent. Atlantic City casinos pay a rate of 9.25 percent. Some of that money would be given to Atlantic City of offset loses that would come as a result of additional competition to the resort.
