A new report says there is no nepotism in Wildwood regarding the promotion of Mayor Ernie Troiano’s son within the fire department. According to the Press of Atlantic City, firefighter Daniel Dunn filed a complaint that Troiano’s son Ernie Troiano III was given a promotion by Commissioner Tony Leonetti, despite Dunn posting a slightly better civil service exam score and being endorsed by the fire chief in Wildwood. The report claims that Leonetti defended his position saying it was not influenced by the mayor. The state court sided with Leonetti and the city that there was nothing illegal about the promotion of Troiano’s son.
