REPORT: MIDDLE COP CHARGED WITH STEALING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

A veteran of the Middle Township Police Department has been charged with stealing more than $4,000 worth of unemployment benefits.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that 35 year old Leon Linthicum was indicted last month on a charge of theft by deception, which is a third degree offense.  He allegedly collected the unemployment revenue last summer while he was employed by the police department.  He has been suspended from the force without pay.
