REPORT: FAMOUS PIER COULD BE REBUILT IN ATLANTIC CITY

The old Steeplechase Pier in Atlantic City may be poised for a comeback.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Resorts Casino wants to rebuilt the pier in the resort and put a restaurant, bar, and some shopping on the pier.  The new pier would fall in the footprint of the former pier.  Steeplechase Pier was destroyed by a hurricane in 1944 and rebuilt; then, it burned to the ground in 1988.
