Surprise visits were made at nearly 20 stores on the Wildwood boardwalk on Tuesday as state investigators continue to crack down on the illegal sales of designer bath salts which are used by young adults as designer drugs. Inspectors found some boardwalk merchants selling the bath salts according to a report by the Newark Star Ledger. All of the stores were persuaded to voluntarily surrender the packets of synthetic drugs. An estimated 1,400 packets of products with a value of $35,000 was collected by authorities. Nothing was confiscated and no charges or summonses were filed.
