The city of Cape May was apparently never taken off a “watch list” that is maintained by the National Park Service. This week’s Cape May Gazette reports that the city was never taken off a “watch list”, meaning the city has actually been on this list for the past eight years. Recently, city leaders learned that Cape May was put back on the “watch list” for historical landmarks, which raised many eyebrows. Now, leaders have learned the city never really came off the list since it was first added back in 2002. For more, see this week’s Cape May Gazette.
