REPORT: CAPE MAY TRIMS PROPOSED TAX HIKE

Cape May city officials have decided to use some more surplus to lower a proposed tax increase to an even penny.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that more funding is being used from surplus to eliminate a portion of a proposed tax hike this year.  Councilman Jerry Inderweis Jr. voted against the revised budget saying the city is ignoring an issue regarding staffing at the city’s fire department.
