An online report today says that a controversial parking meter issue in Cape May will likely go before the voting public. The website for the Cape May County Herald reports that Superior Court Judge Valerie Armstrong ruled in favor of the “Friends and Neighbors of East Cape May” group that wants an issue regarding adding more parking meters in the city to be placed before voters. The group held a meeting on Thursday and announced that Armstrong sided with the group, which effectively allows the city’s two new parking meter ordinances to be put up for a full, city wide vote. Armstrong’s ruling could be appealed to the Superior Court’s Appellate Division, if the city wants to take the issue further.
