REPORT: CAPE MAY DOESN’T WANT TO PAY FOR SPECIAL ELECTION

The city of Cape May doesn’t believe it should be paying for a special referendum election on a possible pullout by the city from the Lower Cape May Regional School District.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that an attorney representing the city believes instead that the entire regional school district should foot the bill for the election which will cost taxpayers $40,000.  County Clerk Rita Fulginiti says the entity that asks for the election, pays for the election.
