Six state troopers earned big bucks for overseeing New Jersey Turnpike construction. The Star-Ledger reports that those troopers brought in on average $46,000 a piece, for a grand total of $275,000 in overtime alone. The Turnpike Authority is paying the overtime, which is also hiking toll prices on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike by 50 percent. According to the report, only a select few of officers are trained to work in a construction zone and they have racked up the overtime as a result.
