The federal government is prepared to build a 16-foot high dune from Hereford Inlet to Cape May Inlet to help protect the Wildwoods. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is now taking public comment on the project which could cost near $22 million. A new report is out that took ten years to complete that discusses a protection plan for the Wildwoods. North Wildwood Mayor-elect Patrick Rosenello says he is pleased to see North Wildwood included in a cyclical beach replenishment plan.
