If you do not currently have EZ Pass, you may want to think about getting it. A report in the Philadelphia Inquirer says that the Atlantic City Expressway will go to an all-electronic tolling system before Memorial Day Weekend, 2011. That means all toll booths will be taken down and motorists will be able to speed along the expressway without slowing down. If you have EZ Pass, no issues; if you do not, the new system will take photographs of your license plate and send you a bill in the mail for the toll that you should have paid. The report says most of the full time toll takers on the Expressway earn over $60,000 annually; they will all be out of jobs within a year.
