In case you missed it in Oct., the minimum wage for New Jersey will be going up at the end of the month. There will be a six cents increase to the minimum wage bringing the total to $8.44. The increase is in line with the consumer price index, which is apart of a constitutional amendment that was approved a few years back regarding the minimum wage. This is the first increase since 2015, when the minimum wage was at $8.38. A bill was vetoed by Christie in August that would have increased the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2021.
