New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher today urged New Jersey residents to remember, as they prepare for the impact of Hurricane Irene this weekend, to take measures to protect their pets and livestock.
“Now is the time to prepare,” said Secretary Fisher. “If you are asked to evacuate, you need to bring your pets with you, and start thinking today about where you will take your pets.”
Those who do not already have emergency plans in place may visit www.ready.nj.gov/, where there are basic preparedness tips and steps listed to protect animals.
