On Friday Wildwood got their 13th police chief at a swearing-in ceremony. Former Capt. Robert Regalbuto was sworn-in as chief Friday, after over 20 years on the force. Regalbuto replaces former Chief Steven Long who retired from his post. Also sworn-in were seven new police officers, Joseph Murphy was promoted to captain and Edward Ramsey was sworn-in as lieutenant. In other police department changes, the work schedule for officers changed from 8-hour shifts to 12-hour shifts, and the starting salary for new officers was raised to $29,000.
