The state held another public hearing on its proposed revisions to beach access rules on Tuesday. The meeting was held in Galloway Township, Atlantic County. The public and government officials discussed a state plan to give power to local communities to develop their own public access rules on their beachfronts. Officials from Stone Harbor and Avalon attended the meeting and supported the state’s initiative. Avalon forced the hand on the state to revisit the rules after it successfully sued in court to have the state’s one size fits all approach to rules overturned.
