PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE RELEASES UPDATE ON BRIDGETON SHOOTING

A Use of Deadly Force investigation is on-going into a Bridgeton shooting and death. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the corners of Henry St. and South Ave. The vehicle contained two people and a handgun was found. The two officers on scene discharged their weapons and it resulted in the death of Jerame Byrd, of Millville. The name of the other occupant in the vehicle is not being released at this time. The officers, Braheme Days and Roger Worley have been put on administrative leave. The New Jersey State Police is assisting the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation.
