A new bill is being proposed that would ban solitary confinement for those under the age of 18. U.S. Senator Cory Booker made the proposal to avoid putting juveniles through that punishment. The measure has bi-partisan support with two Democrats and two Republicans sponsoring. “Not only is solitary confinement cruel and demeaning, it’s a violation of one’s human dignity,” said Booker. “When imposed on adolescents, it can cause serious long-term psychological and physical harm.”
