PROPOSAL COULD RAISE MINIMUM AGE TO BUY TOBACCO

A new proposal could raise the minimum age to purchase tobacco again. Senator Dick Codey has proposed a bill that would make 21-years-old the youngest you can be to purchase that type of product. The current minimum age is 19. Codey was governor at the time that the legislation was signed into law to increase the age from 18 to 19 in 2005. Codey said he plans on dropping the bill on Monday.
