A state-run grant program that will provide funding for shore residents to elevate their homes holds its final local public meeting in Avalon this evening. Avalon Community Hall will host the final meeting of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs that will discuss the Hazard Flood Mitigation Program, which provides up to $30,000 in reimbursements for residents who want to elevate their primary homes. The meeting begins at 6:00pm; the deadline to enroll in the program arrives Sunday.
