The Miss America Pageant will be returning to Atlantic City this fall, but not without a significant investment. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority announced on Monday their plans to spend nearly $7.3 million to fund the event over the next three years. Officials are seeking a formal contract with the Miss America Organization and the pageant which is scheduled for Sept. 15th. The competition was last held in Atlantic City in 2005. Local officials believe the event will return their investment in national publicity and direct visitor spending.
