Two federal lawmakers are pushing for offshore oil drilling to not take place off the Atlantic Ocean. U.S. Senator Robert Menendez and Congressman Frank Pallone were in Belmar to push back against a plan that could see offshore drilling near New Jersey’s coast. The two were pushing the Clean Ocean and Safe Tourism Anti-Drilling Act that was introduced in April. The legislation would ensure the shoreline was protected from possible offshore drilling.
