Accused of murder in the death of a 3-year-old, Charles Kane, Jr., was in court Monday, in an admissibility hearing on statements he gave to police. Kane is charged in the death of Elijah Ulbrich, whom he was babysitting in North Wildwood on February 25, 2010. The hearing continues today as Judge Ray Batten determines which statements made by Kane after his arrest will be admissible at his trial. Kane has not pled guilty to the crime in spite of an offer of a plea agreement for a 20-year prison term. He remains at the Cape May county Jail in lieu of $600,000 bail.
