A law is being discussed that would put the county’s in control of issuing taxicab licenses. Currently, a taxi company must register with every town it does business with. Wildwood Crest Borough Clerk Kevin Yecco said he believes that this change would benefit both taxi companies and the towns. He believes the registering process would be easier since each town wouldn’t have to verify the license. Plus, town’s wouldn’t have to worry about their ordinances as much. The municipalities on the Wildwood island have done a lot of work to make sure that each town has the same rates as the others, to make it easier for tourists and locals a like.
