An new poll says that the Democrats will win easily in the 1st Legislative District. Stockton University released its latest numbers and it shows State Senator Jeff Van Drew retaining his seat against Republican David DeWeese, 56 percent to 23 percent, with the remaining unsure. The numbers are a lot closer in the Assembly race. Incumbents Nelson Albano (47%) and Matt Milam (39%) lead the Republicans Suzanne Walters (32%) and Sam Fiocchi (28%).
Cape May County Republican Chairman Michael Donohue released this statement, “As the saying goes, the only poll that counts is the one on Election Day. This poll has a very bumpy history. Here is how Democratic Assemblyman Nelson Albano characterized this poll in 2009, “They were off two years ago. They were way off. They’re way off again this year. They’re very off.”
Donohue added, “Agreed.”
