POLL: STATE RESIDENTS DON'T LIKE TAXES, DON'T LIKE CUTS

A new poll shows that while the state budget needs to be balanced, they don’t like the options the government has to get there. The Rutgers-Eagleton poll says that they don’t want to pay higher taxes, but they are opposed to seeing large cuts to areas like education. This most recent study says 57 percent want no change in state aid amounts to local school districts, but 72 percent are against raising the gas tax or state income tax.
