POLICE CHIEF’S GROUP SUPPORTS FORMER CHIEF IN CAPE MAY

An organization that represents police chiefs from the State of New Jersey are clearly behind Robert Sheehan in his battle with city leadership in Cape May.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police claims Cape May acted illegally when it demoted Sheehan to the rank of captain during a meeting last week.  City officials say the law cited by the association does not apply since the move to demote Sheehan was a contract issue.
