PLEXIGLAS BEING INSTALLED TO NJ TRANSIT B– USES TO PROTECT DRIVERS

It will soon be safer to drive a New Jersey Transit bus in the state. All 820 buses are going to be fitted with Plexiglas in an effort to protect drivers from attack. Each bus will cost $2,220. Bentech Inc. of Philadelphia was awarded the contract for the purchase. The contract can’t go over $1.82 million. The agency has seen a number of unprovoked attacks on its drivers and the new system is supposed to help fix that problem.
