PLEASANTVILLE MAN DIES FROM BEATING

A Pleasantville man has died from injuries he received during a severe beating last month. Paul J. Madara, 66, was beaten with a two-by-four piece of wood during an altercation on Aug. 28th and died over the weekend from his injuries. . He was hospitalized in critical condition and died over the weekend. Joseph McCarten, 51, also of Pleasantville, was arrested and charged with the assault. He is being held on $35,000 and his charges may be upgraded.
