On Wednesday the Hammonton Planning Board voted to approve a plan to install lights at the St. Joseph High School Wood Street football field for night games. The Press of Atlantic City reports that most of the 50 residents who attended the meeting were supporters of the plan. The school will be required to pay for extra police officers for night games and provide additional volunteers to assist in parking and directing traffic. If all conditions are met, the lights could be installed in time for the 2014 football season.
