One of two pit bulls that viciously attacked a golden retriever on June 25th in Absecon was not euthanized as previously reported. The attack occurred after two pit bulls escaped from their kennel, ran into a neighbor’s home and attacked their pet dog, who later died from it’s injuries. Absecon Police shot and killed one of the pit bulls and captured the other. The owner of the dog under attack was hospitalized for a hand injury he sustained during the attack. Police have not filed charges in the case and the second pit bull is still being held at the Atlantic County Animal Shelter.
