PIER ONE TO SHUTTER HALF ITS STORES, NO WORD YET ON LOCAL STORES

Pier 1 Imports is closing about half of its nearly 1,000 stores in the United States.  Pier 1 operates stores in Cape May Court House, Somers Point, and Vineland.  There’s no word yet if these stores are safe from closure.  Various layoffs in the company’s corporate headquarters are also coming.
