A petition attempt to stop two new parking ordinances in Cape May is being held up, as of now. The Press of Atlantic City reports that City Clerk Diane Weldon decertified the petition because one of the petitioners was not a legal voter in the city. Jeanne Testa is not legally allowed to vote in Cape May, and can’t be one of the five listed petitioners, which she is. The report says the Friends and Neighbors of East Cape May had 10 days from this past Monday to submit a new referendum petition.
